Biggest Trends for Spring 2016

Fashion trends are constantly changing and sometimes it’s really hard too keep up. However, this season is another proof that the really good trend ALWAYS come back. So when someone gets a good idea, it really sticks with us for a long time. Like the happy frills, cute bows, midi skirts or mini dresses. If you’d like to get your head around the biggest trends for this spring and summer, here’s my quick overview which should help you prepare your colorful Spring wardrobe 😉

  1. Pink Please

„Rose Quartz“ is one of the leading colors for 2016. It seems that designers understood that even before Pantone, as usual, and brought us plenty of pink sweetness for this Spring. Pastel and powder pink hues have been coming back to fashion in force lately, so it’s probably time to stop thinking about them as „Barbie“ colors and enjoy their prettiness and elegance in our „adult“ wardrobes with pride 🙂

2. Lined Up

For me, there is no other pattern that gets me more excited and ready for Summer than nautical stripes. White and blue, white and red, they carry so many endless possibilities that I can’t wait to wear them again every Spring. However, this year the stripes have gotten a special treatment, because they came back in every shape, size and colour! Wide, narrow, horizontal, vertical, colorful, toned down, classic, retro, modern… Like they literally came to ask us: Have fun, girls! Enjoy the sun!

3. Cold Shoulder

This is one of the newest and most visible trends from the Spring 2016 RTW catwalks this season. Nearly every designer created the off-the-shoulder looks in some way and form, whether it was in a romantic dress or a minimalistic crop top.

4. Lace-y Romance

Lace. The never-ending romantic story woven into the beautiful dresses that never cease to amaze us. As always, designers knew how to make us happy and brought back the power of the romantic and fierce lace. I don’t know about you, but I definitely don’t mind 🙂

5. Frill-y Mood

If there is something that has been reinvented this season, it’s definitely ruffles. Fun and youthful frills came in all sizes and shapes and they will be very hard to ignore this Spring. If we are to take one advice from the designer’s trendbook, it’s this: the more, the merrier.

6. Victorian Era

Who loves Jane Austen stories and Keira Knightly period drama costumes? Well, it seems at least the world designers do. They decided to bring back the romantic and dramatic victorian details on everything – tops, collars, blouses, long dresses, bows or puffy sleeves.

7. Folk style

Fashion has a lot of great attributes. One of them is that it has the ability to revive all the great pieces of our culture that somehow stayed hidden for a while. This year it gives a new live to plenty of beautiful folk and ethnic colours, patterns and elements and I couldn’t love it more!

8. Slip dresses for day

Underwear worn as regular clothes has been here for some time and designers still love to play with the idea. It reminds me of a long wild party that has stopped late enough for me to get some new clothes, so I had to go out in my slip dress and pretend it is „on purpose“. Well, this time it really is. When you manage to forget your dress, you’re going to be very trendy this year.
